Home Assistant is an open-source platform that unifies smart home devices. By integrating Deako switches, users can control them through Apple HomeKit or Matter, enhancing automation and cross-platform compatibility.
1. Access the Home Assistant Dashboard
- Open your Home Assistant web interface (typically http://your_home_assistant_ip:8123).
- Log in if required.
2. Navigate to Integrations
- Click on Settings in the left sidebar.
- Go to Devices & Services and then select the Integrations tab.
- Here, you’ll see a list of installed integrations and a search bar for finding new ones.
3. Deako can be automatically discovered on the network, if the integration isn’t automatically discovered, please see below how to search for it manually.
- Select “ADD” under the discovered Deako integration.
4. Select “Submit” to confirm the setup for the integration.
- It may think about it for a while, then finalize.
5. Search the Deako Integration
- In the Integrations tab, click on the Add Integration button in the bottom right.
- Use the search bar to find the Deako Integration.
6. Select and Configure the Integration Manually
- Click on the integration you want to add.
- A setup wizard will guide you through the configuration steps.
7. Login to Your Deako Account
- These credentials are the same ones used to set up the Deako App.
Note: If you used Google or Apple authentication login, you will need to contact support@deako.com to assign your account to a direct email address to retrieve a password.
8. Confirm and Add
- Once the configuration is complete, click Finish or Submit.
- Your new Deako integration should now be added and ready to use. You’ll see it in the Devices & Services tab, where you can view and manage connected devices.
9. Check Entities and Configure Automations
- After adding an integration, Home Assistant creates entities for each device or service. These entities are the individual controls (like Smart Switches and Smart Dimmers).
- You can view these under Settings > Devices & Services.
- Use these entities to create automations by navigating to Settings > Automations & Scenes.
