Troubleshooting
What do I say to get Alexa to turn my lights on or off?
The structure for controlling anything Deako is pretty much the same:
"Alexa, turn [on/off] [group, scene, or light name]"
If you’d like to dim a light, structure the command like this:
"Alexa, dim [light name] to [dim level from 1 to 100] percent"
Alexa not finding your Deako Smart Products?
If you’ve made changes to your switches in the Deako app, Alexa may take a few minutes to update. Try rediscovering your Deako Smart Products by saying, "Alexa, discover devices"
Alexa tells you that there’s “more than one device with that name”?
Alexa has trouble delineating between devices that begin and end similarly. For example “Kitchen Ceiling Light” and “Kitchen Sink Light” both begin with “Kitchen” and end with “Light” so Alexa is likely to have trouble. Try "Kitchen Ceiling" and "Kitchen Sink".
Alexa not turning a group of lights off or on all at the same time?
The best way to control a group of lights with Alexa is to create a Deako group. For example, make a Deako group called "All lights." Then tell Alexa to "Turn off all lights" or "Turn on all lights." Check out this article for more info on groups.
