Simple Motion Sensor Settings Explained
This section provides information on the three available settings for your Simple Motion Sensor.
Time
After not detecting any motion for a set amount of time, the switch will automatically turn the light off.
- Test: Approx. 30 seconds
- 5: 5 minutes
- 20: 20 minutes
Mode
Mode settings determine how the switch controls the light.
- Occupancy: Turns light ON when motion is detected; OFF after time expires.
- Vacancy: Requires manual ON button press; turns light OFF automatically after time expires.
Tip: In Occupancy Mode, if you turn the light off manually, there is a 5-minute cool-down period so you can leave the room without it turning back on.
Range
Sets how sensitive the sensor is to movement.
- Lo: Low sensitivity
Hi: High sensitivity (recommended for large rooms)
Troubleshooting
Having issues with your Motion Sensor? Follow these steps:
1. Turning on when no one is in the room
This may be caused by electrical noise. If this happens, contact support@deako.com for a replacement.
2. Check switch count
Motion Sensors are designed to be the only switch controlling a light. They will not function properly in multi-way (3-way/4-way) circuits.
3. Recalibration Steps
- Remove the Motion Sensor from the Backplate.
- Press the main button 10 times at a normal pace.
- Insert the Motion Sensor back into the Backplate.
- After 15 seconds the LED will flash. Wait 1 minute until it stops.
