Changed your Wi-Fi password, got a new router, or switched internet providers? Your Deako switches store your network credentials directly, so they'll go offline until you push the new information to them. The good news: it takes about two minutes and you don't need to remove or reset anything.
Before you start
- Be at home and physically near the switches you want to reconnect.
- Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network you want your switches to use. Deako switches connect to 2.4 GHz only: If your router broadcasts separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, make sure your phone is on the 2.4 GHz one before continuing.
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your phone. The app uses Bluetooth to send your new Wi-Fi credentials to the switches.
Update your Wi-Fi credentials in the app
- Open the Deako app and tap the Settings gear icon on the home screen.
- Tap Wi-Fi Settings.
- Tap Network and enter your new network name and password.
- Tap Continue. The app will push the new credentials to all nearby switches over Bluetooth.
- Wait about 60 seconds, then check whether your switches are back online.
Walk through each room if you have switches in different areas — the app sends credentials to switches within Bluetooth range, so you may need to move closer to switches in rooms farther from where you started.
If a switch still shows as offline
Power cycle it at the breaker:
- Flip off the breaker for that room.
- Wait 30 seconds, then flip it back on.
- Wait another 60 seconds, then try the Wi-Fi credential push again from the app.

AT&T customers
AT&T dual-band routers sometimes cause connection issues specific to Deako switches. If you're on AT&T and the steps above don't resolve it, see Connecting Deako Switches to AT&T Dual-Band Wi-Fi Networks.
Still not connecting
If a switch won't come back online after a power cycle and a fresh credential push, a factory reset will clear it and let you re-add it from scratch. This takes about five minutes and doesn't affect your other switches.
