A crossed-out Wi-Fi symbol means that specific switch has not reached Deako's cloud servers in the last 24 hours.
What Always Works
Even if the crossed-out Wi-Fi symbol is displayed, the following features remain fully functional:
- Manual wall control
- App control while at home
- Press-and-hold scenes
- Previously configured timers
What Works If Your Bridge Is Online
If the device designated in the Bridge role remains online, these features will continue to work because they route through your Bridge rather than the individual switch's own connection:
- App control away from home
- Scheduled automation
- Third-party integrations (Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Alarm.com)
Tip: You can verify the status of your Bridge device in the app by navigating to Settings (Gear icon) → Wi-Fi Settings.
Features That Require the Switch to Be Online
The following actions require the switch itself to have a direct Wi-Fi connection:
- Firmware updates
- Settings changes on Gen 2 switches: The app saves your configuration changes to the cloud, and the switch applies them the next time it connects.
