The Simple Nightlight Switch combines a standard rocker light switch with a built-in LED nightlight that automatically turns on when the room is dark. The nightlight is similar in brightness to a tea candle—making it especially useful in bathrooms and children's' bedrooms.
Installing the Simple Nightlight Switch
Confirm it's the in a compatible location. The Simple Nightlight Switch is best used in a single-pole location. This means the light(s) it controls is operated by just one switch. The rocker itself is 3-way compatible, but the nightlight feature will only function when the switch is installed on the line side of a 3-way circuit. In a setup with two or more switches controlling the same light, the nightlight will only work in one of those locations.
Install the Simple Nightlight Switch. The Nightlight switch installs like any of our other switches. Go to the faceplate and pull it off. Pull the blue tab on the backplate to release the old switch. Remove the old switch. Insert the Simple Nightlight Switch and push back in the blue tab and then replace the faceplate. Additional instructions can be found here.
Use the Switch. The switch works like a standard rocker switch for turning your lights on and off, with the additional benefit of an integrated nightlight when the room is dark. The brightness is not adjustable. To test it while light out, cover the sensor with a non-translucent object like a credit card.
Troubleshooting the Simple Nightlight Switch
Confirm the switch is installed in a single-pole location (or the line side of a 3-way circuit for advanced setups).

If it’s in a single-pole location and the nightlight still isn’t working, chances are there’s a wiring issue in that location.
Missing Neutral Wire: The Simple Nightlight switch will still control the light, but the nightlight will not light up
Hot-in/Load swapped: The Simple Nightlight switch will still control the light, but the nightlight will only light up when the switch is in the On position.
