Overview

The Deako Smart Switch Gen 2 (DS2023) includes all the core features of the previous Smart Switch (DS2005), with important enhancements designed to improve setup and user experience. The new Gen 2 model adds Magic Linking for automatic multiway switch setup—eliminating manual linking steps—and a customizable Beacon light that provides visual status and locator functionality. These improvements make the Gen 2 switch deliver everything the original offered, while making installation easier and adding more functionality to transform the way you connect with your home.

What’s the same?

Both the DS2005 and DS2023 Smart Switches include:

• 15A rating – Both switches are rated for 15-amp general purpose use.
• Single pole and multiway support – Both can be installed in single pole or multiway locations.
• Multiway linking requirement – In multiway setups, all switches in the group must be replaced with compatible Deako Smart Switches and linked together.
• Deako app compatibility – Both switches connect to the Deako App for control, setup, and customization.
• Smart features – Through the app, both support remote control, schedules, timers, scenes, and integrations like Alexa and Alarm.com.

What’s different in the DS2023 Smart Switch?

The Gen 2 switch includes improvements that make setup faster and add new features:

Magic Linking™

The DS2023 introduces automatic multiway linking. When multiple Smart Switches are installed in a multiway configuration, they will automatically link during setup — no manual steps required.

The DS2005 requires users to manually link switches through button sequences.

Beacon™ Light Bar

The Gen 2 switch includes a configurable LED bar that can be set to:

• Glow when the switch is on (Status Mode)
• Glow when the light is off to help you find the switch in the dark (Locator Mode)
• Do both

You can control the Beacon’s behavior from the Deako app.

Refined Design

The DS2023 also features:

• A sleeker, updated look
• Improved tactile feedback when pressing the switch
