The Deako Smart Switch Gen 2 (DS2023) includes all the core features of the previous Smart Switch (DS2005), with important enhancements designed to improve setup and user experience. The new Gen 2 model adds Magic Linking for automatic multiway switch setup—eliminating manual linking steps—and a customizable Beacon light that provides visual status and locator functionality. These improvements make the Gen 2 switch deliver everything the original offered, while making installation easier and adding more functionality to transform the way you connect with your home.
Factory reset a device to erase all information from it including name, schedules, scenes, timers, and groups.
- Remove the switch from the Deako app
- Hold down the configure button on the Deako Switch
- Wait until the configure button light turns red
- The switch will reboot and flash green for a few seconds and once the light is off, the switch has successfully reset
Standard linking
To prevent cross-linking, complete Magic Linking one circuit at a
time. Linking
devices on multiple circuits simultaneously can cause switches from
different
circuits to pair incorrectly, leading to improper behavior.
If cross-linking occurs, perform a factory reset on the affected devices and relink them individually to the correct circuit.
- Identify every switch that operates the light (leave them installed for now).
- Remove all of the switches that operate the light
- Install DS2023 Smart Switch (Gen2) in each switch position
- Wait for the the beacon status light to turn off on all switches- this may take a few minutes
- Test to make sure each switch properly controls the light
If there are any issues with Magic Linking, try the steps below.
- Identify every switch that control the light by toggling the existing switch on and off.
