Download and add Deako drivers
1. Download drivers
You can download Deako drivers here.
2. Move files
Move .c4z files to My Documents/Control4/Drivers
3. Start composer
You'll now have access to the drivers in Composer.
Set up a Deako Connect
1. Navigate to Connections
2. Select the Network tab
3. Find your Deako Connect
In the Available Device section, find the Deako Connect. The device will be in the format "deako-[16 digit serial number]".
If there is more than one device in that format, scan the barcode on the back of the Connect you are using to view the serial umber and select the device with corresponding number.
If you do not see the Deako Connect, verify that the Deako Connect and Control4 Director are connected to the same WiFi network.
4. Navigate to System Design and search "Deako"
5. Double-click on the Deako Connect driver
6. Drag & drop
Go back to the Connections page and drag the device with the serial number from Available Devices onto the Deako Connect listed in IP Network Connections.
You'll see the Deako Connect's Status change from "Not Addressed" to "Online" after a few moments.
Add Deako Smart Dimmers or Smart Switches
1. Select your Deako Connect from System Design
2. Go to the Actions tab and hit Display Deako Devices
3. Go to the Lua tab
In the Lua Output section, you should see a list of your devices.
Each line is in the following format:
"[Switch type] in [Switch Name]: [Device ID]"
For example, below is stating that it has found a Dimmer called Living room. To the right of the colon is the device's ID.
"Dimmer in Living Room: 3a0d6d90-f9ad-4bbe-8c8c-18387c68c53d"
If you do not see the Lua output, unplug the Deako Connect and then plug it back in. Wait for the light on the Connect to return to white, then refresh Composer and hit Display Deako Devices again.
4. Select and copy the device ID
5. Navigate to System Design and search "Deako"
6. Double-click on the Deako Smart Dimmer or Smart Switch
7. Paste the device ID in the Device ID field and hit set
8. Change light name
Under System Design, double-click the Deako light you just added and change the name to the device name listed in the Lua output (see step 3 to locate the device name).
9. Repeat steps 1-8 until all your devices have been added
10. Finishing up
Before testing your system, be sure to refresh the navigator by selecting File > Refresh Navigator. You'll find your switches and dimmers on the Navigator under Lighting.
